The filter was noticeably cleaner after the first application, and even better after the second. This is a project that takes about half of a day. Two applications of the cleaner is about 30 minutes (removal of the filter, apply the cleaning solution, let soak for 10 minutes, rinse until water runs clean, and then repeat). Next you will need to let the filter air dry, which took a few hours for me. Applying the oil was easy, however each application of the oil must sit (about 20 minutes) to allow the oil to wick into the filter. I did two applications of oil. Total time = around 4 hours. Have a towel or paper towels handy, residual oil and overspray will need to be wiped off of the filter housing. I would buy this again. Hope this helps.

Using this kit on a cone filter can be time consuming, but very worth it. Make sure you give yourself a couple hours of downtime before needing to use you car. The cleaning process takes about 1/2hr and the cleaning spray literally "melts" away the old oil and grime. Then you need to let it dry on its own, which can be sped up by letting it sit in a warm and sunny location. Re-oiling the filter will take about 20-40min. Make sure you doing this in a utility sink or over cardboard because it will drip oil.

I waited the 50,000 miles like K&N recommends before cleaning and re-oiling my filter charger. I think that is a little too long to wait before a cleaning. I had to wash the filter 4 times to get it thoroughly cleaned. I will probably adjust the cleaning schedule to once a year, just so it doesn't get so clogged up. All that said, these products work and are worth the price to protect the filter and the bigger investment, the vehicle.

I can't say how good it is now, because I got them for the next time I need to clean my new K&N air filter, but it is sitting in my garage when I do need it. My sons vehicle also has a K&N air filter too so this is for him also. If he uses this stuff before me I'll edit this review and say what he thought of it, but until then I'm going by the respected name of the product.
K&N is number one for a reason.

Just a good ole K&N filter cleaner. Works as expected. Cleaned my extra dusty dirty filter, and reapplied the oil as directed. Car continues to run well, no MAF codes or errors. Don't believe all the competitors if you own a VW Turbo. Almost all the performance filters used by aftermarket intakes use K&N filters - oiled. Been using them for over a decade with no problems, just don't over oil, and let it dry overnight if you are worried.
