Wait for it - fantastic performance!

I have a pair of these on each of our New Beetles ('01, '06) and they are excellent, but you have to be patient. For the first several uses, they will usually streak, but after they have "seasoned" the windshield, they perform fantastically; and the silicone that is ultimately deposited on the glass imparts a "RainX effect" - the water beads and blows off the windshield, requiring less wiper use. I have also noticed less drag on the wiper motor
I have used PIAA silicone wipers in the past, but the Silblades outperform them handily.
A couple of tips:
1. Clean - I mean super-clean - your windshield thoroughly before installing the Silblades. Any contaminants on the glass may impair performance.
2. If your windshield is damaged (un-filled chips, cracks, etc), they may not perform well and they will not last very long.

Pure garbage. Ordered 2 sets because the first set streaked ...

Pure garbage.
Ordered 2 sets because the first set streaked right outta the box.
Second set same exact issue.
I've had very cheap blades in the past that didn't last long but at least worked right albeit for a short time.
Take my lost money as the lesson learned or find out the hard way...

Great blade that cleans well, but the 28" long size chatters badly on the lower end

The blade fits well and wipes clean. However, due to the extremely long 28" length, the lower end of the blade still grabs and chatters no matter whether the windhshield is wet or dry. It's sooooooo annoying!!!!!!!!! This is on the bottom third or so where the blade swings a short arc. I cleaned the windshield thoroughly before installing it along with the passenger side 14" Silblade, which does does grab or chatter at all. The wiper arm and motor seem to be firmly mounted with no slack movement. They do sweep the windshield clean in light or heavy rain, and the material looks like it will last for a very long time. However it seems that there needs to be an arm designed to account for the difference in pressure or whatever is causing this big blade to jerk and chatter, it can be very noisy.
Won't be buying these again!

Not impressed. Started skipping out of the box. In all fairness, we use RainX wiper fluid. So, thought that could be the issue. Cleaned wipers with rubbing alcohol. That improved the wiper performance, but even with brand new windshield and no use of fluid, back to skipping. Won't be buying these again.
Buyer beware - replacement shipping not included

After using this for over 8 months, the hydrophobic film never developed. Upon contacting Silblade under their 5 year replacement warranty, they said, "please note, the cost of shipping is not included under the warranty terms and will need to be processed before the replacement order can be processed." But this is what it says on their website: "Proof of purchase is required for refund or replacement. Removal, installation or reinstallation costs are not covered by this warranty." When I pointed out to their customer service rep that nowhere on their website did it exclude shipping costs, all i got back was, "In regards to your email below, the shipping cost is not included."
