Installation on my 1997 Acura Integra was straightforward and easy. I removed the old one (which was a pain), but the installation of this new universal-style one from Metra was simple. I would recommend to anyone who needs a generic antenna on their car and doesn't have many other options. Reception has been great and it is just the right size for my car. It isn't too big and ugly.

Decided to test this out before tearing apart the dash, glad I did, the broken off stock antenna gets better reception.
1. All components are painted in a non-conducting black paint- no signal unless you sand every edge of every part that connects to the "antenna"
2. Assembly design is just silly, there is no real way to tighten this down. You can disassemble the "ball" shaped part to get a screwdriver in the thing, but you cant really hold it in place to positively tighten it.
3, Overall cheap components, threaded parts don't line up well and too many components screw together making the signal terrible even if it wasn't painted over.
In the pic I took off all the plastic garbage to show all the connecting points that have been painted over. (tested with a volt meter, no conductivity)
