The essential sound - a staple - it's the 'root note' of the chord.

Excellent mouthpiece for the money

Excellent mouthpiece for the money. The sound is far superior to entry level mouthpieces. I have a happy band geek!
Somewhat Expensive, but Worth it in the Long Run

This is the "standard" mouthpiece for ensemble players. It works well for everyone, beginners to pros, because it is easy to play and you can 'blend' in with your fellow section mates. You can solo with this, but I would choose something else if that was my gig.
Yes, it is expensive compared to many of the other ebonite mouthpieces, but with proper care, it will last your entire career. I am still playing a 26-year old C* on my alto sax and purchased a new one for security. The same holds true for this tenor mouthpiece as well as my soprano mouthpiece. It works well with a wide variety of reeds and sounds great in all registers. I use mine with a Rovner ligature and play Selmer Super Action 80 and Mark VI horns - soprano, alto, and tenor.
