Sloppy sewing causes defective seams
Barbara YarussoAugust 29, 2017
This fits the Seagull Merlin just fine. However, the sewing quality is poor. I first ordered a "very good" condition used bag. It had no signs of use, so it must have been a return. It was obvious why- there were two large gaps in one of the seams.

The "new" bag I ordered instead also has a gap in a seam, but it's small enough that I will repair it myself. The trimming of the seams and binding on the seams is very sloppy. I'll use it because I don't expect to give it very hard wear. I don't think it would be durable enough for anyone who expects to tote their instrument around a lot, and I certainly wouldn't give it as a gift.

The "new" bag also arrived with something marked on it. I just need something to keep my Merlin in, so I won't bother trying again for one in better condition.
Perfect for local gigs, but...

If you're traveling by air, I'd suggest a hard case.
the bag itself is good if you're not doing anything heavy duty
Amazon CustomerApril 14, 2017
I actually bought this for my Seagull Merlin. It kinda fits. Anyway, the bag itself is good if you're not doing anything heavy duty. If I had my druthers, I'd say it could use thicker padding and a more rigid form. It's a little flimsy. But like I said, it's good for basic storage.
The padding is fine, comes with a shoulder strap besides the handle

This is for all who are concerned about whether your dulcimer will fit. My dulcimer is a FIRST ACT teardrop (great sound though fretboard is narrow) and it fits perfectly with room to spare with this bag. The dimensions of my dulcimer are 29" long by 6 1/2" wide. I have two inches left over lengthwise and 1/2" left over width wise. The padding is fine, comes with a shoulder strap besides the handle. Again, a small teardrop within these dimensions will fit. I love unedited user comments, but sometimes there can be a bias (only for child's toy dulcimers...) which can cloud the perspective buyer.
Exactly what I needed for my ACD 100

Well-made padded bag that fits the Applecreek ACD 100 31" dulcimer. This bag would be too short for a standard, full-size dulcimer. It is perfect for the ACD100. It has a small compartment on the side that will hold a noter and pick, capo, and spare set of strings, and probably a pencil. The bag is too small to be able to carry music books in it, but if sheet music were folded it could fit in the bag. It has a handle for briefcase-style carrying, and two straps that can be attached in different ways to metal rings on the back of the bag for over-the-shoulder, cross body, or backpack-style carrying. The main part of the bag has double zippers, (side compartment is also zippered), and they work smoothly. I doubt that this bag is waterproof, but as it is smallish, it could easily be protected by a big plastic trash bag in wet or snowy weather.
