This is my third Remo conga head. They are just fabulous, you will never lost your tuning so the performing will be fabulous. Remo conga head are durable and resist everything.

I have the complete set of LP Matadors Quinto, Conga, and the Tumba. The Quinto had an Evans Tri-center head. The other two had rawhide. Did some research on the synthetic heads and Remo had a lot of good reviews over the Evans. So replace all heads with Remo nuskyn and love the sound these heads produce. They have a warm sound like the natural rawhide but with added volume and easy on the hands. If you're looking into synthetic heads you can't go wrong with the Remo nuskyn. Oh the price here on Amazon is the best

These heads have a sound very similar to rawhide heads and give added volume to the drum. Very easy to keep and easier on hands. Avoids the tuning and detuning and maintenance of natural heads. Will fit most congas with traditional rims and newer version rims, one just has to make sure to use the proper sized one for the individual drum. Congas, if hand made or mass produced, have individual qualities and vary in measurements and the heads as well. Examples: Experience with Remo Heads: I have an older model, Kaman 12.5" inch, Toca Tumba, with a traditional rim and I have to use the, 13" inch, NuSkyn Head that works out just fine. 2nd example: Installed an, 11.75" on a, LP Patato Conga and the fit was too snug on the rim so, I tried another one, I always keep spares in the event of an emergency and that one fit just fine. The rings of the heads vary no matter what the brand is. I've had to exchange heads with the dealer before, keep in mind, the dealer/store doesn't make them, the manufacturer does and they too are mass produced, there are errors in fabrication, hope this helps.
