The build quality is great, so the price-point is on par. The sound it makes is shrill and agitating. I wish there was a way to keep a portion of the trumpets sound clarity and heart while muting the volume, without converting it to such a screech. But it IS quiet, and that's the outcome I wanted.

Most of the 35 players in my college trumpet studio have this mute, usually bought from actual music stores but this one is the exact same. Works like a charm. I would suggest taking the little felt piece off of the end (tip - rubbing alcohol gets the sticky stuff off). Works great as a practice mute too
