If you want to fix their messy cheapness.
Cody W. DavisJanuary 5, 2014
They used those cheap little guitar case hinges to hold the near 20 pound lid on. So naturally the lid broke off in shipping. Not from the shipping, but because there was no way that lid was not going to rip the screws out of the hinges. The lid was crushed, the actually wood dosnt even line up properly, but the vintage 30 sounds good, and once you replace the mic holder with an adjustable one it's pretty sweet. Honestly, it's easier to build your own than to fix this one. It's not that hard.
Great for Home Recording

I will say, with a HIGH WATTAGE amp/head it will be VERY LOUD.. don't expect it to be silent.. That being said.. take one of the "lunchbox" heads... and CRANK IT UP inside. I have my IsoCab in a closet in my studio (in my home).. and I can crank my Dark Terror or Tubemeister 18 at pretty much full volume.. and not bother anyone in the house. The mic selection and placement will be tricky.. but once you find the sweet spot it will work great!!

NOTE: The cab only comes with a small mic mount "stub" that is mounted to the cab.. I bought a microphone GOOSENECK and attached it to the mounting stub. Now I am able to move the mic around/angle it etc. With the stock "mount" an SM57 pointed down will actually HIT the speaker... unless you aim at the OPPOSITE edge of the speaker the stock mount won't work... if you like that sound then great.. I wanted something else.. hence the goose neck.

Solidly built.. Debating getting a second. =)
Cool thing.

Thus box , isolates your sounds very well. When you close it and turn up the volume , it takes away like 40% of the sound.
I my self send to creat an outside box for the amp so I will hear nothing. Just the sound coming out of my monitors to record the sound i WANT.
It is very cool, sounds very good. But you will need some reverb for the sound because it can be a little boxy sounding. That obvious hahah but with some reverb out sounds cool.
I use a sm57 shire mic.
Also I moded the box to have 2 mic . I have the shire sm57 and a audio tecnica condenser to get that full rich sound.
