Using a regular tea light candle the butter bubbles out, which make it hard to use. Not sure if I put too much butter, but I expected to put a reasonable amount of butter and it to stay in the dish.

I like these warmers. They work as they should! I changed the provided candle with a tea light as others suggested. I melted my butter first then put it on the warmer and it stayed nice and warm. I was a little concerned about tipping it over when dipping snow crab legs. No other issues besides that.
