A great gun (and a tip for beginners)
Keith from GR✓ Verified PurchaseSeptember 16, 2017
This gun is excellent. Quality through-and-through.

If you have never used a pistol-grip grease gun before, I *highly* recommend buying a tube of super-cheap grease for loading it the first time. Here's why: the directions that come with the gun aren't very clear, and if you load it incorrectly the grease will shoot out of the tube like one of those "snake in a can" novelty/gag tricks. It will make an impressive mess in the blink of an eye. Don't ask me how I know this. ;)

If you are concerned about a little bit of grease leakage around the tip of the coupler, you will have to buy (separately) a lever-action locking coupler. (For instance, LockNLube.) The coupler that comes with grease guns operates is spring-loaded so you can pop it on and off a zerk fitting quickly and easily. But spring pressure alone will never be enough to really provide a leak-proof seal.
Appears to be of good build quality but the plunger was deffective from factory

The build quality appears to be well done but it does not work properly. I purchased this for the shop and the guys came to me saying this new grease gun does not work right. I thought for sure they had left the cap on the grease or something stupid like that. Nope. They did everything right. I was able to get it to load a small amount of grease but then it had to be taken all apart again. It looks like the plungers is just a little too large or maybe deformed. Either way it will not go down the tube and push the grease out. I just ordered a replacement gun and we will see if that one will work any better.
If Doc Holiday had a grease gun....

It's a shame this comes in blue and not black, or else I could write a review on a tactical grease gun. I guess this is the civilian version that Delta Force commandos use to grease their Strykers and MH-6 Little Birds.

I don't know about you, but having a nice grease gun never really made it on my priority list--that is until I started working on friend's cars (ie, older cars) that still use zerk fittings. If you have the two-handed style grease gun, there's nothing more frustrating than crawling under a car and holding the grease fitting with one hand and trying to operate the lever with the other hand--all while holding the grease gun next to your body like an infant so you can get some leverage. Before you know it, you're covered in grease and if you're lucky you actually got some grease into the zerk before you started spouting obscenities. Oh, and you'll bump your head while crawling out from beneath the car.
This pistol-grip grease gun makes it so much easier! You'll swoop down on the hungry mouths of those grease fittings like a Mother Bald Eagle feeding her young. That's right, using this grease gun makes you a better citizen. Take pride in your hard work to keep cars running longer and squeak free. Break free of this throw-away-and-buy-again society and "sealed for long life" mentality. Salute, my friend!

This is a very well made grease gun. The head is cast metal (I'm sure it's some special alloy from outer space), the hose is made by Zee Germans and is rated too almost a bazillion PSI, and the tube is made in India. Don't knock India when it comes to heavy, sturdy things made from metal...walk out on your street and take a look at the first man-hole cover you find, chances are it's made in India.

Just like all grease guns I've had, burping the air out before the first use is akin to performing a voodoo ritual, but eventually it works. It's got a bleed port on top to release air. Lot's of people have commented on the grease fitting on the end of the hose and how it needs to be adjusted. I haven't found this to be the case. I've found it to slip on and hold tight and release with a gentle tug on all the zerks I've encountered.

This is a great grease gun that I wish I had purchased years ago.
Works great for those fittings where the hose can tend to ...

I replaced a perfectly functional old grease gun that leaked and was generally just plain nasty to use. This one properly contains the grease and is very well made. As noted in the other reviews, the fitting is adjustable and must be loosened before it will go onto a zerc fitting. I clamped it in my vice and loosened with a wrench. Works great for those fittings where the hose can tend to pop off when you are pumping the handle, just tighten the fitting so it cannot pop off, then loosen to remove after greasing the joint. Tips on grease storage: 1. don't store under pressure, i.e. pull out the spring loaded rod after use and store in a cool place. Avoid very cold or hot locations.
Excellent product with a Wonderful, easily detachable tip.

It is a couple of months since I bought this and I've greased my tractor with it several times. It is a delight to use. The lock-on tip is secure and no grease escapes around the grease fitting, and the unscrew-the-tip feature works very, very well to let you easily pull the tip off the grease fitting.

Otherwise, it seems to be well made of quality materials and I've had no oozing of oil from the grease inside the cylinder in storage even though we've had record hot, weather days at a time, and its in an un-airconditioned garage hanging on a sunlit wall.

I won't repeat what others have said, except that you must use Facebook as the twelve-year old fractured English directions are a farce.

Best gun I ever used.
