My biggest issue is with the lids.
👕 Diz n Dat 👚•November 15, 2016
Overview:
My biggest issue is with the lids. Any smaller spices can easily fall out through the silts between the lid and the jar. Far too easy to accidentally pull off the lid instead of the whole jar from the fridge, sending half it's contents to the floor. Also, the clear part is a plastic piece that pops out pretty easily. And finally, the magnet isn't that strong. It's okay, but not difficult to accidentally knock off a fridge.
Pros:
- Convenient way to organize, store, and display larger spices (this would not be good for salt or substances similar in size)
- Stainless steel looks nice
Cons:
- Lid doesn't form an airtight seal (not good for keeping even the larger spices fresh)
- Plastic see-through piece pops out pretty easily
- Magnet is not very strong

Great for Spices

We recently moved into a rental with less cabinet space and was at a loss as to where to put my spices. Then I discovered these. My main spices are now on my fridge. These are perfect for them as they have an opening to sprinkle or pour the spice out. Or if you need to measure just pop the top off.

They get a little rusty and hard to open. They leave marks on the fridge. They fall if you jostle them. Three stars for the product, but five for how much good it's done us around the house. They're conserving valuable kitchen space in our tiny kitchen, and with the clear windows we can always tell when we're running out of something. This is clearly the right solution for spices, I just wish they had built them a little better.

I bought this to organize my herbs on the inside of a cabinet door.
they are not stainless steel - I saw one ad on amazon that said they were.
They are aluminum or some kind of junk metal alloy.
The see through lid is a thin film of plastic glued in - not glass. Several of mine came scratched and hazy.
The lid does not create a tight seal to lock out air! - unlike the containers herbs come in (glass) - so expect your herbs to degrade faster.
The magnets are very week.
Shutting the door caused several to fall off the metal sheet they are on.
Left over night several fell off or sled down due to gravity.
And they are easily knocked off by barely brushing them with your arm.
These are going into the trash.

Magnificent Magnetic Tins!!!!

I purchased these tins by Lifetime Brands to go with the new Kamenstein Magnetic Spice Rack for my daughter. She loved the spice rack but once she got it she decided that she wanted more and wanted to use them for her beads to do her jewelry crafting.
They are ideal tins and can be used for so many things. I love them and will purchase again and I would highly recommend these to anyone. It would be simple to craft a very classy metal wall plaque and purchasing several of these would allow you to store all your spices, or all your beads at your crafting station. The possibilities are endless.
