Older cat likes well enough

I really like the Science Hill Diet in general. I think my older cat liked the regular chicken wet food over the hairball prevention version. When I first started her with this one she actually had a higher frequency of hairballs but now hasn't had any lately. I might try a different kind next time but I would highly recommend the Science Hill Diet whichever flavor is best for your pet. I have a younger and an older cat and this was the one brand that worked for both of them. My older cat has a little bit of a sensitive stomach.

I have used this, along with Hill's Science Diet dry, for over 3 years now. My cat is aging, and was getting very picky about her food -- she likes this, and only turns it down when she is not hungry. Usually, she will eat her entire dish full. She has far less hair balls, and only once in a while will throw some up -- I think this diet helps quite a bit.
Mainly, I'm happy with it because she seems to like it, and didn't like anything else. Yes, I've tried them all -- the Purina stuff was the worst.

Seems to have reduced hairballs, but most of my cats didn't love it

We started feeding our 5 (not by choice) cats this wet food 2x/day along with their dry food AND started giving them some hairball treats after dinner every other day, and it seems to have reduced their hairballs - although to be fair and honest, it's only been about a month. Unfortunately, they don't seem to like this wet food as much as others, so we have to do a small scoop of this one with half a packet of a 'broth' style over the top in order to get them to eat most of it. We tried mixing it with a broth - they hated it. We tried mixing it with a gravy style they love - hated it. We'll keep trying and keep reducing the broth a bit to get a balance, but at least they eat some of it - and that's better than nothing.
CAT GIVES IT 4 1/2 STARS

Number one importance, the cat is happy to eat it. There's only one thing on his menu that he likes more. I'm sure both help with his hairball/digestive issues that were becoming a problem (and costing me money with runs to the Vet) but this is more affordable. I only have one cat and the large cans are a bit of a problem. The smaller cans are harder to find. I think there's a lot of oil in there because the consistency is looser and that means he's happier to eat leftovers.
Expensive but worth the cost

This is the only wet food I have found that my long haired cat can eat without vomitting. I have tried other expensive cat foods that my other cat likes, but for some reason (it could be eating too fast), this one cat cannot hold other foods down.
In addition to hair balls, my long haired cat has had severe problems with constipation and dehydration that have led to two vet visits where they had to perform an enema and give her an IV.
After the first vet visit, the vet recommended that we pay $500 for an ultrasound to see if she had some type of digestive disease since the bloodwork came back negative. However, the second vet (at the emergency clinic) thought she just wasn't getting enough water, so he told us to remove dry food from her diet and replace it with low carb, all meat wet food with no extras, like the gravy that comes in some wet food.
We have not had any more issues with vomitting or emergency vet visits since we started feeding our cats this wet food two times a day. We open two cans in the morning, and store them in the fridge until dinner time, when they finish the rest. We leave a tiny bit of hairball control dry food out while we are at work for them to snack on. Sometimes I give them a third can at night depending on if they still seem hungry.
It's only been two months since our last vet scare, but it seems like this food has helped. Both of our cats have MUCH better fur that looks so much healthier, and I am happy to report that our litter box has more poop in it (which is something monitor after the constipation scares).
This cat food is expensive (I'm now spending at least $100 on cat food a month when you take into consideration the dry food), but honestly it is worth it if your cat has a history like ours.
