Defective products, terrible support

It did not work. Mighty mule customer service is awful. I was on hold an hour waiting for a representative. It took another 45 min to determine it was defective. This is the third item ordered that was defective. The gate opener did not work. I tried a wireless sensor it was defective too. I wasted 7 hours on the phone on hold and troubleshooting.
fix for false triggering and water ingress over time
Amazon Customer✓ Verified Purchase•April 6, 2017
This was a replacement for one that I had installed in 2009. It apparently went bad due to water. I noticed the old one had a small board that hooked between the yellow wire and the black. The new one did not come with one. So I hooked it up per the diagram and it worked fine except I noticed later in the day it was opening without a car there, in fact it was opening all the time. Reading the reviews, I noticed that one customer had the mule co send him a small board that went between the yellow wire and the black. I hooked my old one back up and the gate triggers fine with a car and no false openings. I measured the variable resistor and it is a 500Kohm pot. Mine was adjusted halfway at 250K ohms. So anyone with the falsing problem could get a 500K pot and set it for their own needs, about halfway. The other thing is that these units do not appear to be 100%waterproof. For $120, I want the thing to last a long long time. So I suggest that people use some silicone RTV caulking to seal the little hole that the wire goes into. Even better is to seal the whole unit into a piece of PVC pipe. Check the photos.
Leave the remote at home (perfect for guests)

So far this has worked as expected. The gate starts opening up when it senses my car and is perfect for having guests over that can leave on their own without a remote.
I purchased this item in coordination with my neighbors because we all chipped in on the cost of building a gate for our shared driveway. I made sure to do my research and make sure that this sensor would work with the motor purchased by my neighbor. Using the instructions that came with the motor and sensor installation was straightforward.
I've only had this for a couple months, and it's working as expected.

Excellent Customer Service

Had problems at first due to interference from nearby power and Steel Coated Telephone wires within the 12-16' range; the gate kept opening by itself . Called customer service and they said that if I disconnected the yellow wire that would cut the sensitivity in half and that would probably fix the problem after cycling the power for recalibration; which it did. Excellent Customer Service!
never buried it and everything was fine for a year
Mark Pauls✓ Verified Purchase•October 11, 2016
Purchased a year ago, never buried it and everything was fine for a year. It started getting very sensitive and when you'd pull up, the gate would open, then start closing, then open again, ect. Found out the thing was completely filled with water. After draining it, things got slightly better but still unacceptable. Based on reading some of the other reviews just now, I'm going to bury it and see if that helps.
