Works great. Nice straight cuts. The segment that attaches the 2 ends is pretty wide & makes a nice straight line. I don't like the clamps, i use 2" c clamps, for quick clamping & release.

I am not sure why this edge guide has received so many negative reviews. I get the impression that people are expecting to get 100% accurate cuts using a circular saw. Not going to happen.
I use this cutting guide to rough-cut sheet goods to manageable-sized pieces that I can square up perfectly on my table saw. The Empire Cutting Guide is handy. It's low profile keeps it out of the way of my circular saw's motor as I glide the saw's fence along its length. It comes with two c-clamps that make it really simple to attach to your work piece.
Each four-foot section is perfectly straight and I haven't noticed any deviation when the two are joined together. Of course, I also check it's positioning before each cut.

This 2-piece straight edge product is perhaps a little better than I expected. The two pieces align quite well. I true then to a 4ft long solid straight edge and then clamp the entire 8ft+ straight edge to my project before cutting. Very happy with this.

Bought these to cut sheets of plywood with a skill saw. They worked out very well . The clamps work but the handle is narrow and small that it bit in to my hand, so I used clamps and it worked out very well. I should have picked them up along time ago .
