After a major water flooding fiasco I decided look for a fail safe water cutoff system.
An HVAC serviceman recommended to me the Watercop.
I looked it up and read some , it seemed to be what I needed.
Just installed into water main. I had it done by a plumber. He was impressed with
The unit. I liked the ability to have a remote touch pad , which is installed by the front door.
It indicates the water on/off. You can also turn the water off /on here too. I added a couple of extra
Water senses, and may add a couple more. The touch pad is an optional item but worth having.
I tested the sensors and they trip the main unit. Just wet your fingertips and touch probe ends.
It does give you a sense of relief when your out or even in. So far so good.

Product works perfectly. I installed it years ago and it avoided three basement floods in that time. You place the water sensor anywhere in the house (range is excellent) and when the sensor gets wet, it sends a signal to the watercop to shut the water main off (very quickly) which limits the amount of damage to whatever is left in the water line. You would place the sensor behins the fridge, under dishwasher, by hot water heater, under bath sink. The initial price for valve and sensors seems high, but the thing works perfectly and if you ever had a flood you understand how much that really costs in the long run. A plumber would probably charge 200 to cut into the main and install this valve - but it is well worth it for peace of mind.
