Cute, roomy, but smelly

When I picked up the box from the UPS store it smelled really bad. The best way I can describe it is moth balls that you would put in a closet. I put it in my trunk and could smell it inside my car. When I took it in and we assembled it the whole house smelled after leaving it in the living room overnight. I'm don't know if it is the stain or what but it still smells. It is currently outside on the porch. I'm hoping it will air out over time because the cats don't even want to go in it. I'm guessing they don't like the smell either.
The house is cute and a good size but not being used and I am a little disappointed. I'd honestly like to return it.

Cute house, but the workmenship not that great. Glue is visable were they have the trimming on the side panels. Try to assemble the house was bit interesting. There are no holes on all the side panels to screw the nails in. You just have to be very careful to make sure you adjust the sides correctly before you screw the nails into the wood. There are no screws for the bottom piece of the house to connect to the side panels. I guess it is a good idea, because if the dog makes a mess, you can clean it. Lift the house clean it and then put it back on top of the base.
