I purchased a set of these boxes to have CDs in our car (our son loves to listen to books on CD). They are tough cookies! I am happy I bought them, as they came to replace the flimsy cardboard boxes I had my CDs in. These ones only have the problem of being black, which means that we don't see them well in the dark, but I guess a couple of "glow-in-the-dark" stickers will fix that. It's been more than a year since I purchased them and they're still going strong!

This is exactly what I was looking for to hold a lot of cd's in slim cases. It snaps together easily, a couple of my metal snaps were missing and with use the snaps would unsnap! With the lid on it stays together. But the lid's not always going to be on is it. So I wrapped heavy black duct tape around the whole thing which looks ok as the lid is solid black and the sides are black and white. So I do like but on it's own it's not very STOUT.

Omg I love these boxes! They hold my stuff perfectly while looking attractive. I love the label on the front, plus each box comes with several blank labels! Shout out to the reviewer that used them to store their manga. They gave me the idea to store mine so I have an extra shelf on my bookcase. And it fit my entire Fruits Basket series EXACTLY.
I was a bit worried when I saw I had to assemble them myself, but they literally pop together with button clasps in the corners. It's pretty sturdy, although the edges look a little thin, like it's just tape holding the sides together, but it seems to hold together just fine.

I absolutely love these! I have tons of CDs, used to be very active in the music scene, and I WISH I had been storing my CDs all these years instead of my five media bookcases that require endless dusting. And, to find anything on those shelves, you need lighting that is just right and I never got it just right. I bought the DVD boxes because they are a little larger and I have a few items of larger packaging, and I can use these form my DVDs as well. It is SO MUCH EASIER to thumb through these, filed alphabetically than try to locate them on the annoying shelves. A good number of my CDs don't have jewel cases; they have only folders. or sleeves, or generic jewel cases with no official spine labeling, On shelves, finding these was a nightmare.

UPDATE: After testing them and deciding they work ok, went back to buy more a few weeks later AND THE SELLER HAD ALMOST DOUBLED THE PRICE. I am really upset. The price was two for 6.29 and now it is two for 11.29. I was going to buy a lot more. I found they are the right size for most old VHS tapes, too. I have a bunch of personally filmed jazz performances on VHS that I haven't transferred, yet. If the price increase hadn't been so significant, I would have still considered it.

These boxes are NOT for heavy duty storage. For example, If you move residences, you would want to place the boxes in a more sturdy moving box. They will NOT protect your media from anything of any weight that is placed on top of the box. They are good for organizing, but not for major archival-quality, strong, totally dust-proof protection.

Update: I've been using these for about a year and a half and they're still great. I use them to store our movie collection in CD sleeves, alphabetized with index card dividers, so they have stood up to regular handling, being opened and closed regularly and moved around a lot. I don't stack them or put anything on top of them, because I want them to last as long as possible. I do put them in the car now and then to bring to family gatherings, and even that hasn't damaged them. They're definitely a good buy.

Great buy for the money. I read the reviews before purchase, so glued the snaps together before use. I just didn't want to take any chances with the snaps coming open. The only thing to consider is that the disc sleeves stick up out of the box a bit when the box is full, as you see in the pic, so you will not want to stack them on top of each other.
