I would buy this again
Mark Tourtellotte✓ Verified PurchaseSeptember 5, 2017
I have golfer's elbow and had some recurring pain, so I decided to buy this. Even though I started using it the way that is recommended in the brochure that comes with it, I quickly quit doing it that way and found it had other benefits as well. I fell off a swing set when I was 5 years old (over 55 years ago) and have had recurring problems with my left shoulder and upper back. I did some tendon/muscle damage and so my right side is stronger than my left side (the side I fell on). I frequently get hitches in my upper back and it seems to feel like my spine is slightly bowed toward my right side as the muscle is stronger toward the right side, which seems to pull on the right side of my spine. Since purchasing this, I found that when I put the TheraBand FlexBar over my head with the palms of both hands facing forward and then gripping the FlexBar and twisting in opposite directions with each hand, arms extended, it works the muscle on both sides of my spine. When I activate the muscle on the left side of my spine, which I have been unable to do with any other exercise that I have found, It eases the tension on the right side of my spine, and I am able to hear and feel the bones in my spine pop and realign. I no longer wake up in the morning with a stiff neck and stiff upper back. I would buy this again.
This and the "Tyler Twist" exercise are a REAL solution to tennis elbow (lateral epicondylitis)
Joe D.✓ Verified PurchaseSeptember 2, 2017
I bought both the red and the green models to allow me to step up my strength building as I recovered from a nasty case of tennis elbow (lateral epicondylitis). I had read about and was recommended to do the "Tyler Twist" exercise by my orthopedic specialist. This is something that can only be accomplished with this specific training item. I'd been through 4 weeks of conventional PT sessions and ultrasound treatments with only marginal improvement, so I watched a few YouTube videos and bought these resistance bars. My improvement was noticeable within a little over a week and continued until I had no pain in everyday life or on the court. I do wear a tennis elbow brace while playing simply to avoid any reinjury, however, even times when I've played without it, no elbow pain at all.
Golfer's Elbow - Get the Blue one if you are strong enough
Kayla O.✓ Verified PurchaseApril 30, 2017
It works. Used it for medial epicondylitis aka Golfer's Elbow. It's not a miracle cure so don't expect one use to heal your elbow. It still takes time and rest. Suddenly my elbow started bothering me (probably from overuse) because of constant Crossfit workouts and my regular lifting/strength training program. There wasn't a particular moment that caused my elbow pain. I refused to see the doctor though I visited a chiropractor to see if any upper back adjustments could be done in the event that the nerve was being pinched from all the way up there. Between that, daily tricep/forearm massaging, refraining from movements that cause pain, and this Theraband, my elbow is finally getting better. I would definitely recommend the blue one if you're a strong person. I do it 10-12x twice a day.
The jury is still out

I purchased this item to help with tennis elbow symptoms. I heard from other players that exercising regularly with these bars is keeping them injury free. I started with a slight injury. The exercise is clearly targeting the right area, but I end up increasing the pain by the time I'm done.
At this point I'm not sure if it's good as part of the healing process. It does not seem to make things worse either. I'll keep trying, it may just be a long process.
Great hand & wrist exercise

I bought a bunch of equipment to keep up my occupational therapy at home and this is one of the pieces. I suggest this for anyone who is having problems with: hand grip, numbness/tingling in hands, or wrist pain when pressure is applied to hands (ie push ups).

I have carpal tunnel & ganglion cyst in my wrist. One doctor told be to have the cyst drained, the other suggested the therapy. I'm happy I went with the therapy. Strengthening my hand has relieved nerve pressure on my wrist and reduced the size of the cyst, it's all but gone now.

This is a great alternative and natural way to strengthen alling hands/wrist.
