I honestly bought it for the "cool" factor and to impress my friends while camping. It is a nice product, but not as sturdy as I thought. I imagined it was like the one my grand mother had when I was a kid. The type that lasts a lifetime and that you pass along to the next generation...
Well, not quite... It is still in one piece, but I have to use it with care to keep it that way.
Coffee quality wise: well, it is a percolator, so, do not go for espresso fine ground coffee if you do not want mud in your mouth towards the end of your morning cup. It will wake you up for sure :-)
It took me a few trials to not have any floaties and have a bold brew. It is easy to clean, and the iron enamel coated looks incredible. Boil it over the fire camp in the morning, and you will feel like a real cowboy in the wild... Don't for get your horse.

Don't waste your time or money. Complete shoddy workmanship, clasp holding lid broke as well as the clear percolator top after five, six, seven uses. And no I didn't drop product and only hand washed this coffee pot. It is just a piece of crap. I will NEVER purchase anything produced or sold by this company again.

Should have paid more attention to other reviews. This is a very poorly constructed item. The hinge connecting lid to handle is a joke--might as well throw away first time it comes off. The plastic dome won't stay in place because the tiny sliver of metal used to screw into kid doesn't hold up any better than metal hinge. After little use enamel starts to flake off into coffee. The innards are made of extremely cheap, pliable, very thin metal that bends way too easily --you have make sure the 'pop's is aligned with the dome or will spatter all over the place.
Plastic percolator top

Beware! If you are using this coffee pot on an open flame, the see through percolator top is PLASTIC NOT GLASS and will melt. This happened on the second use. If it says outdoors, it should be able to hold up on an open fire. I also found the metal piece holding the lid to be very thin and don't expect it to last. Pretty disappointed in this product. I am going to try a replacement top made of glass and hope for the best !
Good product that held up while camping.

I had done a lot of reading on which percolator to buy and take on our nearly two week family camping trip and finally decided on this one. This product held up nicely. We used it every morning over a Coleman gas stove and had no problems. It heated up quickly and made good coffee. The external material is thick enough that I didn't worry about it denting or chipping. The top sight glass is plastic, but it is fairly thick and we didn't have any problems with it. The inside materials are thin and light weight and if you are not careful you could break it, but we kept ours inside the percolator the entire time, even when packed down, and never had any trouble with it. The only part we had trouble with was the hinge for the lid. It did at some point come loose and allowed the lid to come off, but the fix was easy enough . . . just bend the hinge back the way it needs to be and you are good as new. I would buy again if needed.
