Bulb dead in less than a week

This well-built unit fit directly, perfectly on my Petco tank: really couldn't have been a better fit.
I used a combination of wire nippers, aviation and tin snips to trim places for the aquarium feeder, hoses, and bamboo plant.
The issue is that either the light bulb "” or power supply "” has died within a week of use.
There is barely a glow emanating from the bulb as I write.
I'm ordering a new light bulb as I didn't like the color temperature of the one that was included
and hoping that's the problem. The ends of the bulb are not discolored.
Just in case anyone wants to order a replacement bulb, I've attached a pic.
It's an F15 T8 18" lamp.
Given the complexity of any manufactured item, I'm always in a bit of shock that anything works.
I think that Perfecto is a very good company and that this event is an anomaly.
The product was shipped via Amazon and arrived quickly and was well-packed.
