A great draw for birds

This has been through two winters now, and is still going strong. I attached it to a three-legged metal plant stand, which made it stable and viewable through my doorwall. As many birds come for a drink as come to my winter feeders!
Another wonderful feature is how easily it cleans

I held off writing a review for this bird bath until we were able to see it working under extreme conditions . . . and we did.
The temperature here in Massena, New York got to -24 below zero this winter and this bird bath didn't come close to freezing up.
We have used bird bath immersion heaters in the past and when the temperature reached way below zero the water froze up except just around the immersion heater. Another wonderful feature is how easily it cleans. It has a smooth inner surface that brushes out beautifully. We have yet to see how many years it will function, but so far we are extremely satisfied.
Birds were happily drinking from this on day one of use during a heavy snowstorm

Bird bath is terrific. We plugged it in with a heavy duty 25 foot outdoor orange extension cord. Filled it up, and it's running perfectly. We are in CT and were in the middle of the winter storm that slammed the rest of the east coast. It's on an upper deck railing, and I probably had about 100 birds feeding all over the yard and deck today during the high wind storm and already the goldfinches, house finches, and a sparrow found the bath. Most just drank, one little brave goldfinch took a quick bath. It's perched about 4 feet from the house/slider. The snow covered the outside rim, piled up high, but the water is perfect. I love it, and I think the birds will too.. Just ordered the one with the stand for the back of the yard for the shy guys who don't want to come up on the deck.
This is a great heated bird bath.

This is a great heated bird bath. I live in Minnesota and a multitude of birds are enjoying our backyard with open water available to them for drinking and bathing. We are visited by flocks (yes flocks) of male and female cardinals. Other visitors include rosy breasted gross beaks, nuthatches, black capped chickadees, red wing blackbirds that were most likely migrating, and even an a crow or two. The birds slosh a lot of water out of the bird bath while bathing and it does need to be refilled probably every 2 days due to the sloshed water and evaporation. We are very much enjoying our heated bird bath this winter, along with the birds, of course.
Be sure to do the obvious and protect any electrical connections.

Fit the bill and does the job. But be sure to protect the connection of the extension cord to the bird bath cord. I'd had my previous API Heated Bowl for several years and each year protected the connection adequately, using electrical tape wound over and over the connection. The protected connection worked well through heavy snowfall and heated the bowl so that the water didn't freeze. This last winter I didn't do my usual routine (don't ask me why not) and left the connection unprotected. Consequently the first heavy snowfall completely covered the unprotected connection and the bowl shorted out. That's why I've had to buy a new bowl. I've recently learned that you can buy a ready-made protective capsule that makes the connection waterproof. It sells for about $8 - $10. I plan to buy one.
