Wrong Size Carriage Bolts Included; Had to Purchase Correct Size at the Big Box Hardware Store ...
delicateflower152March 3, 2017
Had the "Adjustable Roller Table Stand HTC HRT-10 Super Duty Conveyor Feed Stand With 5 Ball Bearing Rollers " been shipped with the correct size carriage bolts required for assembly, it would have received five stars. The unit is well made; the rollers move smoothly and allow the wood to move easily when you are ripping it; and the assembly is easy. However, the table stand my husband received came with 1/4" carriage bolts, but required 3/8" carriage bolts to keep the table top from wobbling and shifting. These were easy to purchase at the big bix hardware store located less than a mile from our house, but not everyone has something as accessible. It is because my husband had to purchase the correct size bolts to assemble this that I deducted one star.
Solid and well made.

So far so good. Well made. The weakest link is the attachment of the height crank which is attached by a nut welded to the frame. Would have liked to see a weld on all the facets of the nut instead of only the top and bottom. The tapered post makes height adjustment very easy. The rollers are level and turn smoothly. All in all a sturdy unit. My previous stand by Shopfox was much flimsier and not as sturdy so I expect this one will last much longer as it is made much more solid.

We cut a lot of Mouldings at the J.P.Weaver Co. , and these little gems work out well with our chop saw !
A great addition to my shop

A great addition to my shop. Use it all the time. It would be nice if the clamp plate went all the way down to give it more range. I can understand this is done on the high side so that there is enough overlapping engagement between the top and bottom post, but makes no sense on the low side. I welded in a piece to do just that.
Rollers are not level, but overall construction is solid.

These stands do their job, but the quality of the rollers is unacceptable. My main complaint that the rollers do not align evenly and are of low quality (they don't spin very easily). This means that even when the stands are completely level and in the same plane as your jointer, table saw or planer, the *highest* roller is doing all of the work. This is very annoying. That said, the stands are built solidly and assemble easily. When I upgrade to the "shop of my dreams", I will likely either chuck these stands and build custom ones, or retrofit these stands with high quality rollers, redrilling roller alignment holes where necessary. I do not recommend these stands for precision work, because you will need to customize them to ensure they are completely flat before using. If you are in a pinch and need stands that are acceptable, this might be a good option for you.
