A Classic Calculator That Still Eats Your Wallet

You would think calculators would get better after being on the market for decades, but there is a limit to their capabilities as exam makers don't want you having a super computer in the palm of your hand when taking tests these days. I really thought I'd seen the last of this calculator in high school, but alas, it's required for University.
The TI-83 is an old model and still a reliable calculator. Its use in classes is mainly for its graphing abilities, and it does that fine. However, why does it *still* cost a darn load of money? Because, the manufacturer claims that they don't make the parts anymore, but they can make it"”at a high cost. Whatever that means. If you were still mass producing this, you would think the laws of economy would go into effect and this would get cheaper. Apparently, not.
This calculator does what it does and if you need a graphing calculator, the TI-83 is the best model to use because of its simple and elegant design, and its sturdiness.
Make sure you take out the batteries when it's not in use so it doesn't spill acid inside and ruin your purchase. Once you use it for your classes, you probably won't need it again, and you can sell it back on Amazon. Recommended.

Good calculator. I remember using this in high school, now I'm using this for college algebra. Came brand new with batteries. Works as it should.
Great deal

Purchased this calculator for my daughter who has a tendency to lose things, so didn't want to pay $100 for a new one only to have her lose it. Item was in good shape without discernable dings and dents, had a cover etc, was 1/2 the cost of a new one, operated famously, and was an overall great bargain. Arrived quickly once order was placed. Would shop this vendor again and recommend it.
Great Calculator

I used this calculator for my College Algebra class and it was a lifesaver.
There are a bunch of tips and tricks out there that you can Google to learn how to use this calculator most efficiently. The user manual, if you get one, is pretty informative but kinda dry and hard to follow. There are a lot of YouTube videos that can show you how to enter simple programs to find the distance between two points, and the factors of a polynomial.
The one thing I didn't like is how the calculator handles logarithms. Perhaps it's just my simple understanding but you can't enter logarithms as they are written, Log(sub 2)7 must be entered as log(7) divided by log(2) Enter for answers. It's not that complicated, but it took me a little while to figure this one out.
Otherwise, it's a great calculator, the graphing function can be a little slow sometimes, but having a little patience seems to help. Definitely a must need for College Algebra and I'm sure for higher math classes.
