Every sun room should have one of these! The last one I bought lasted for about 12 years. The suction cup that holds it to the window wore out and the device fell a few times :( otherwise I think it would still work! It's a great quality item. And lasts for many years, most likely more years if you replace the suction cup when it starts wearing out. 12 years is a long time. I'm betting this one will probably last 20+ years! I love it. And I'm going to buy another one for a gift! It adds magic to the room.
Plastic gears split and fail

So beautiful when it works. We ordered this to replace the one we had that stopped working when one of the plastic gears split causing the mechanism to seize up. The new one worked smoothly for a few months then started to get caught at a certain point on the gears too but we can't see any visible split or defect on any of the gears. Neither rainbow maker has been dropped or damaged by us. The original one had some fading from the sun on the gears from being in the window so perhaps the manufacturer needs to make the gears out of better quality plastic that isn't effects by UV?

Wife loves it. Sends prismatic colors throughout the area. Works even if not in direct sunlight although when the sun isn't out or at too much of an angle the little solar panel won't power the unit but we expected that.
