Never think you are safe. get water and food for 30 days.
Rain barrel a-ok
DigiChalk•August 9, 2017
As advertised. Looks like the rainbarrel mods were done in a rush. There was still barrel debri/particles in the barrel and one of my connections leak - not from the plug, but the seal of the thing the plug screws into, the sealant didn't do it's job. But the quality of the barrel is just fine and sturdy, with no smell of any prior substance.

just what I needed for an emergency storage of potable water "just in case"... if you think it can't happen you're wrong. You need to prepare for every inevitability. Just this week up North a water supply district was shut down for several weeks due to lead poisoning. It can happen. Don't be caught without the essential for your life. You can live for a few days without food but you'll die without water. Be prepared. (don't forget to put a 5 year water treatment in before filling, and it's a good idea to use an RV hose and filter to fill them. This will ensure you have good clean potable drinking and cooking water for several years for emergencies, and don't forget to buy a pump!!!)
