First of all, what I received came from Fine Art Store, not Hyatt's. As I write this, the picture beside this review is what I received but it's extremely different from the picture in the Amazon ad for the product. The picture in the Amazon ad is of a genuine Sennelier Egg Tempera Set contained in a genuine Sennelier cherry stained case embossed with the Sennelier name and leather handle, has a clear tempered glass palette, two Sennelier brushes 13 paints, medium and "three porcelain bowls of different sizes nested together. I know because I bought one years ago. What I received was an extremely cheap unfinished box, a cheap plywood palette that won't fit properly in the box a cheap metal thing that clips on the palette. Yeah, the paints and medium are there. I should have read the reviews. Some people apparently received the correct item presumably from a different seller. I've read the guidelines for this post and am refraining from commenting further regarding the seller for my purchase but upon reviewing the ad before writing this review, the current seller(Hyatt) isn't the seller who handled my purchase.

I bought this set of Sennelier egg tempera paints to use to paint Byzantine Icons for the simple reason that the sets of dry pigments required for my project were going to be too costly for what I had in my initial budget. I bought this first set from Cave of Treasures on Amazon for $139.00 plus shipping and got everything as described which in my case included a wooden palette which was fine, but I did not really need in the beginning, it included 13 tubes, jar of egg tempera medium, and it may have had 1 brush, but I since I was using tiny brushes at the time, I don't recall. I was so happy and impressed with the quality of the paints, I searched AMAZON for nothing but SENNELIER art supplies from that point on. I Have since bought SENNELIER OILS ( also in a wooden boxed set but with leather strapping) WATER COLOURS IN half pans AND in tube sets, oil pastel sticks, 120piece soft pastel landscape colour wooden boxed set, Sennelier papers, fixatives and any other Sennelier brand products I could find and have been extremely happy. I found that my favorite vendors here on Amazon were Jerrys Artarama and Cave of Treasures or directly from Amazon. If you are ever dissatisfied, you need only contact your seller to either return your item or get a refund etc. I expect I will be a Sennelier fan for life!

I received in time, but if you are expecting the sennelier box with the transparent palette, well, surprise! I just got a generic wooden box (no sennelier brand) and a wooden palette! The rest of the products were as described. Very very dissapointed!

I did not receive what was pictured. I got a cheap wooden box, 15 tubes of paint that were leaking, two raphael brushes, medium, a wooden palette, and a small metal palette cup. Everything is still useable but seriously disappointing. One tube of paint leaked all over inside the box. I had to scrape it off. The finish on the wood box is not as nice and the design of the box is different from the picture.

I needed the Sennelier Egg tempera to experiment with.
I did not want the expensive wooden box etc. just the tubes with egg tempera. I had trouble finding Sennelier Egg Tempera without these and so I bought the whole shebang. The "Luxury" wooden box etc. is a waste for the professional artist.
