We gave this blanket as a gift a couple of years ago. The recipient loaned it back to us to use as we went to see the solar eclipse yesterday. It was wonderful. Our location had periods of rain, and we were able to stash our stuff on one side of this blanket and fold the other side over it to keep everything dry, which worked really well. The bottom side was very muddy when we got home, but I was able to machine wash and dry it and it has come out looking new. I can highly recommend this blanket and will likely get one for my family as well.

This blanket is awesome! It's large enough for several people or kids to play on. I've used it at parks, the beach, at friends' homes, at my home...very versatile. It's great for keeping dry if the ground is a little wet. I love the style, too. It's amazing at the beach because all the sand just falls off with a little shake! Very easy to wash, too. The only thing that's a little frustrating is learning how to fold it up the right way to fit in the bag holder it comes with.

I probably read a thousand reviews on outdoor blankets before deciding on this one. A lot of people said this one had a strong smell, that it was slippery, that the colors were off. The most important thing to me was size of the blanket, that it is waterproof, that it had some padding, that grass and sand would brush off easily and that it was machine washable.

If you have seen other picnic blankets you know that most of them are tarp like. They are extremely thin, and either have a plasticy feel or are nylon. They are not meant to be cozy and cuddly. Some outdoor blankets have fleece on the top. Yes it will be soft BUT will grass and twigs and sand stick to it?? The worst thing would be to have a blanket full of grass and having to individually pick off each fiber.

This blanket is pretty great. It does have some padding (not a ton, but t's WAY better than feeling like you are sitting on a tarp.

Regarding it being slippery, I don't find that. When I laid t on the carpet it did feel a tiny bit slippery AGAINST the carpet but my 20 month old had no problem on it. On the grass and sand I didn't feel it as slippery at all. Maybe they have updated their product or maybe people were using the blanket inside?

Yes, the carry bag is just a piece of cloth with straps and Velcro. I find it works fine. I'm not sure how long it will last long term but it is great for now.

The blanket is very simple to fold up. Just fold in half over and over again until it fits. Super simple and easy to do. Because of the padding it does gather some air inside. I just squeeze it until enough air comes out so that it will fit. Again, no big deal.

Regarding the quality of the blanket I was a little disappointed. Paying around $35 you would expect good quality. There are numerous loose threads throughout the blankets stitching. Some are 6 inches some are much longer. I'm not sure if they just didn't trim after stitching or if it is already pulling. Either way I find that unacceptable based on the price.

I have not used the blanket on wet ground but we did use it in damp grass and nothing soaked through.

Overall I'm happy with this blanket. I will say that I saw something similar but thinner at King soopers for $15 so there may be cheaper ones that are about the same out there if you want to look. I plan to keep this blanket and I'm happy with it.

This was a great purchase! We do not use the carry case because it's flimsy but just keep it folded in the car or stroller and use it regularly! It's adorable and soft! I love how large it is! Perfect for our 2 under 2!

I love the idea of this blanket. My only complaint is of the shape and size of the blanket. It's pretty long and narrow which seems awkward to me. I think I'd prefer a blanket a little closer to square. But otherwise I love that it comes with a carry case. And there is a tag sewn inside the carry case to help you remember how to fold the blanket so it fits in the case.
