Heavy, stable base. Great Smart Card Reader

This thing is heavy, stable and works well. I haven't had any issues with these things. Our office has them at every terminal and they work quite well. They work just fine with all the DoD issued Common Access Cards (CAC), so that's a plus for DoD/Military personnel. Functionally, they work just the same as most other smart card readers I've used, but they don't seem to get as hot. Putting a card in and taking it out is easy as the base is heavy, stable and wide... and the bottom has a rubberized super grippy surface that prevents it from sliding around on the desk. This is a great card reader and I can recommend it without reservation.

This unit is heavy and sturdy. That's unfortunately the only nice thing I can say about it. My office is outfitted with hundreds of these, and all of them are pieces of junk. They only even notice a card is inserted into them probably 2 out of 5 attempts. We even swapped all the cards to a different brand to be sure it wasn't the cards. It wasn't. I'd much rather stick with the slim profile ones than waste my time monkeying with one of these again.

Very well built product. I like it that it is stand up so you are less likely to forget your card. It is heavy enough so when you pull your card out the reader stays put which is not like the cheaper reader that that you holding the reader in one hand and pulling your card out with the other. The product is fully plug and play and I have had no issue with these reader going on 8 months or so. Fellow work colleagues liked it so much they have purchased their own
