According to the sporting goods store that refills CO2 tanks, this tank arrived past its expiration date. See photo.

The item I received was a 24oz Tippmann tank, not the empire tank as advertised... other than that still same type of tank, Just a basic plack-painted aluminum CO2 tank, so no worries. I'm sure it will work as intended. It is so unfortunate that I only bought this tank to replace one that I already have that is out of hydrotest date... Because it costs $25 to have them tested, but only $23.50 to get a new one shipped to my door... (Now what to do with the old tanks?)
Got a Tippmann tank not an Empire one

I read another review stating that the purchaser recieved a Tippman brand tank. I did as well. Not a bad thing in my opinion. I recognize the Tippman brand, and didn't the Empire one, so it was an upgrade in my eyes. The biggest reason I was drawn to this item was the cost vs capacity. the local brick and mortar stores around me wanted more money for half the capacity, so this was a win win.
For us, it lasts about 500 balls per full tank.

This is excellent for paintball wars. My son figures a full tank lasts him about 500 balls. You will need to be sure you can find a place to have these refilled. The local sporting store in our small town often has their tank broken or froze up, so they aren't as reliable as we would like.
Great for soda
Deeje & Sydney✓ Verified Purchase•June 14, 2016
This canister has worked great for my soda machine. Yes, it contains a chemical known to the state of California to cause cancer. It's called paint, and for this reason I recommend against eating this canister or trying to shave bits of it into your salad. All jokes aside, I did get a slight petroleum taste in my first bottle of soda, so I recommend dumping out your first five bottles of soda if you use this canister for that purpose. I did this, and have not noticed any odd taste in subsequent bottles.
