Replaced a failed unit and working well so far

My old aquastat's circulator control relay had failed and my oil-fired baseboard radiators were heating rooms very slowly with the water circulating via convection only. This was an easy replacement and solved the problem. The digital display showing boiler temperature and settings feels more modern (at least into the early 90s :) and hopefully it's reliable with fewer mechanical parts.

I bought this part after having some error code problems on my boiler's aquastat which I was able to clear. Anticipating a failure, I bought this product as a standby replacement to have handy when mine failed. It eventually did fail, and I replaced it with this part. (Note--all aquastats involved were Honeywell and bore the same exact part numbers). It was a simple procedure and it worked fine for 8 days. Then it too failed. I contacted this seller who advised his return policy was 30 days. I was several months beyond that, having placed the item on the shelf until it was needed. He suggested I contact the manufacturer. That process was 3 hours of my life I can't get back, but Honeywell went good for the part with this caveat: It was a one-time goodwill gesture and they won't do it again. They told me the warranty on the part is three years, but it's only good if the part is purchased from an authorized Honeywell distributor, which they advised this seller IS NOT. Long story short--good product, great price, but install it immediately upon purchase so if it's defective, you can get it replaced under the seller's exchange policy. If it fails after 30 days, you're on your own. The MSRP on this item is $315, and contractors cost is around $150.
