Is far better than I ever expected it to be--so easy to just grab my violin and start playing; so of course, I play more often now. Sturdy, yet compact; my violin teacher was mad I didn't buy one from him, until I told him that this also holds my bow--he had never seen that before. An absolute MUST buy! (too bad I couldn't find it in purple, to match my purple music stand, and custom purple violin! :)

I've bought six for all my violins including my NS NXT5 five string which also fits these stands perfectly. All we ask for is a violin stand that works! Bought a cheap mandolin stand at guitar center... But I'm buying an electric violin and wanted an actual stand with bow hook thingy. This one had great reviews and so I got it. Ordered it at midnight and got it the following afternoon. It seems to be well built and great quality. Sturdy, lightweight and super compact. I bought it for my 4/4 violin and it's perfect. I'm returning the one I got at guitar center and ordering another one of these for acoustic one.

Great product. Initially I was not interested in a violin stand as I did not want to display my violin, in part because I live in a narrow turn of the century row house, and my interior style is not what one would call minimalist. However after I began devoting more time to practicing, I found myself getting up to lay my violin in its case whenever I needed 2 hands free, such as when I needed to change my sheet music or practice books on my music stand. Getting up and down to lay my violin in its case was inefficient so I decided to order this stand. I am able to sit it in front of me to my right and it is easy to stand my violin on it, and retrieve my violin without getting up or otherwise wasting a lot of effort. As others have said, it is a sturdy stand that does not require a lot of space. I am very pleased with this purchase and use it all the time, in fact my violin rests on this stand unless I am off to my lesson.
