Powders have a long way to go before I for one will use them. This was just nasty.

I'm not a huge fan of sour cream, but occasionally I have a recipe which calls for it. I cannot tell you how many times I have bought sour cream to make something, and ended up having to throw away most of the tub because it went bad before I could use the whole thing. I like this powdered sour cream because I can leave it in the pantry, and mix up enough to use in my recipe when needed. It's a little pricy, but I figure I have probably thrown away enough sour cream to pay for this powdered sour cream.

Since I really don't put sour cream on my food I've only used it for cooking. I've used it in a few different recipes so far, and I haven't noticed a difference in taste from using regular sour cream. I haven't used any other brands so I can't compare it to any other powdered sour creams.

I'm not a huge fan of the packaging; it comes in a sealed bag. I've bought other powered products that come in nice plastic containers; it would be nice if this one did as well.

Overall this is a really nice product and is perfect for people who only use sour cream on occasion.

I dehydrate my own backpacking food, but this is one thing I buy. My trip mates were skeptical at first, but it's an amazing addition to taco night, breakfast burritos, etc. on the trail. I'll bring it on every trip now - what a luxury. It's actually rich and creamy tasting - not lumpy or grainy.

I have used it to make baked items and it has definitely added to the taste and texture. It may not be the best thing to use in the uncooked form as it has a rather "chalky" taste but after baking it was excellent.Will definitely order again.
