the tongs are great for pulling toast out of the toaster
Amazon Customer•August 8, 2017
The utensils are well-made and long-lasting, the tongs are great for pulling toast out of the toaster, and the canister has enough room for a few more wooden utensils. A good value at the price.
it looks and feels much better after that

The holder was cracked and oblong due to the crack. I'm sure it's just the way bamboo is if it has a minor defect. The utensils were kind of rough. I sanded mine smooth and coated with coconut oil, it looks and feels much better after that.
Dissapointing

Joyce Chen has been a name of quality in bamboo products... until now. The utensils are NOT the same as what you get when you buy them separately!!! The caddy is too small to add more pieces. Because of the small size the unit is very top heavy and prone to tipping over.
If you want GOOD quality utensils you should buy Joyce Chen, but NOT these.

CAUTION!!!

I just received these utensils, and they ARE varnished or coated in some kind of clear laquer. Whatever they are painted or covered with would NOT make them SAFE to use with food. Amazon responded immediately with arrangements for a return and refund. If you read these reviews (obviously, I did not) you will see other similar comments. Hopefully, this review has been helpful to you.
Nice collection of useful implements

I've owned this for a few years now and all of the spoons and spatulas are still in perfect working order. These are superior to regular wooden spoons in that if they get left in the sink for a day or two they don't soak up water to become water-logged.
The fit and finish on these is very good - all are smooth comfortable to use. They've all held up very well, too. They practically look good as new and I use at least one of them probably every day.
