I've bought these type of chinese medicine balls before and they broke or felt really cheap. These however were very impressive. The quality was seen from the box itself. The box has a fabric outer covering and is very pleasant to use.
The balls themselves have an outstanding finish. Smooth and yet not slippery. Perfect for doing the exercises that they are meant for. Also the design is amazing. I really loved the phoenix and dragon.
I would definitely reccomend these. They are amazing to use or just put on display for people to see.

This item came with a few other items I ordered as gifts for the holiday. One of the spheres was broken and you could here the broken parts sliding around inside. The other made a beautiful tone. I had no experience with these and assumed that it must be a yin and yang thing. While watching a video on the topic I realized that they both should make a tone and that they should be a different tone. Too late to take the gift back, I can't get a suitable replacement under such short notice, and I feel like an idiot. Happy holidays!

Advertised as 1-3/4" diameter, actual size approximately 1-5/8" diameter; the product picture where someone is holding them in palm is apparently of a larger size. Received blue ones, as pictured, with a blue box, which is nice on the outside though obviously cheaply made. There are blemishes like popped bubbles on the surface of each ball, as well as scuffs straight out of the box. They were shipped in just a bubble mailer, which is totally inappropriate for an item like this. Was lucky the box was not significantly damaged.
For $6.50, they'll do, but I should have just made a trip to Chinatown.

These are a nice size for me. Would make a nice starter pair, and it was easier then I thought to make them work with my dominate right hand. A little less cool with my left, but I'll get it. Probably shouldn't do it while holding your iPad in the other hand incase one drops and breaks it, but other then that, the better you just let it flow and exercise mindlessly with it, the better and faster I can do it. It has a very nice chime, in fact I bet the UPS guy probably thought he broke something handling it :-) oh, and your never too old, l'm in my 60s. Would be great for sportspeople, equestrains, musical instrument players, arthritic hands, really keeps the fingers limber.
