Bought this gizmo to help diagnose the battery drain issue on my Dodge Cummins twin batteries. I didn't know if I had a parasitic draw on my batteries, or if one (or both) of my Napa Gold batteries was bad. With the help of this load tester I was able to determine one battery was bad, wouldn't hold a charge due to a bad cell or cells. A couple replacement batteries and all is well again. This will be one of those rarely used but indispensable gadgets to keep in the shop.

A nice tool to have on hand when you are doubting the strength of a battery. Schumacher doesn't lie! However, read the directions because I thought the components were burning the first time I used it. Do not panic, it will have a strong smell of overheating. That's NORMAL, it tells you right on the front of the tester!

This product worked as advertised. WARNING! Read the manual! During first use it will produce some minor smoke which is NORMAL. Don't get worried about it like I did. This is the best bang for your buck! Now you can get the fancy digital battery testers, but this works great for all of my marine batteries and monitoring them for abnormal activities.
