This model is the same size as the HTT-081. (Discontinued) The fact that these filters are cleanable with only the foam pre-filter to replace is a big plus.
Excellent for second hand smoke odor!

I bought this air purifier after months of researching for a way to eliminate second hand smoke odor. My husband & I bought our first place, a condo unit, without considering our neighbors who smoke on either sides. I cannot stand the smell of cigarette smoke nor the stale smell that seeps through the walls and vents.
I was worried we made a bad choice buying this property but I was determined to find a solution. I decided to try this purifier since some reviews mentioned it's effectiveness removing cigarette smell, plus the filter is washable so it is economical. I have to say within 24hrs of having it on we noticed a great improvement in the smell. We have to leave it on 24/7. We usually have it on medium & it doesn't impact the electric bill as much. We have one purifier for our 2 story apartment & we have it by the stairs. In addition to it, I bought carbon filter sheets at the hardware store for some of the vents were I noticed cigarette smell seeping in. The combination is life changing!

Cannot recommend enough. Lasted me 9 tough years and still going.

I don't often write reviews, but I had to for this product. I purchased this air purifier 9 years ago in 2008 to help with an apartment that just seemed to create dust out of thin air. It helped immensely. Since then it has survived a multitude of bumpy moves with me, including a road trip across the country, and then some. I even had it in storage for a good year and a half, and when I decided to clean it and plug it back in, it's still works like the first day I bought it.
It definitely does what its supposed to do. Years ago I had a curious and skeptical roommate hold a burger behind the fan while he sniffed the "purified" air that came out the front. Sure enough, he could barely smell the burger.
I cannot recommend this product enough. I can't think of anything I've ever purchased that's lasted me this long and worked so well. The inner filters are easy to clean, but the foam is a bit of a pain. I just saw that they have cheap foam replacements for $8. Done! The front of the filter also needs cleaning once in a while (very seldom), and that gets a little heinous - I recommend q-tips with the two different sized ends.
The purifier is also super, super quiet. Seriously, after 9 years, on its highest setting it's still quieter than most white noise machines. If I could get some kind of commission, I would market this product all over the place. What brought me here today is just that I'm looking to purchase another one to keep in a bedroom.

2 cats + 1 litter box = no match for this product

I've have it in my bedroom (12x15) with 2 cats and and a litter box for 22 months now....anyone that's been in my room is surprised as heck if they notice the litter box because this air purifier works THAT well. Thank you, honeywell!
