1/2 inch or 3/8 inch socket here we come. Replaced drains in two tubs with little effort. It took less time to swap to a foot-lok style drain than to get out or put away the tools. (Got rid of the twist style with a knob on it that my kids seemed to "injure" themselves on)

This tool is invaluable for getting old drains out. I used this to remove an old 1960's tub drain with a big pipe wrench, and it made quick work of it. After cleaning out the old putty and putting in a new rope, this helped install the new drain without any problems.

I am not sure what's not to love here. I used it in conjunction with an 18" breaker bar on a 63 year old drain. Spun it loose with so little force I could not believe it. I am not sure why others were having so many problems with breakage, but I was very pleased with this tool and if it were to break, this was the drain to break it.
This thing worked GREAT! I was almost going to call a plumber ...

This thing worked GREAT! I was almost going to call a plumber to remove the tub drain because I didn't think I was going to be able to remove the drain that had been in there for 20 years, but I slipped the ratchet set in there and it did the job! Was very pleased and saved me the cost of having a plumber to come and do it.

Worked wonderfully for me...been going through the process of renovating two of my bathrooms with new fixtures. I was able to easily unscrew the tub drain and screw in the new one with this tool on the first tub with the help of it and a pair of channel lock pliers
The 2nd tub drain removal took a bit more work to remove--had to get a good sized screw driver and place it through the hole in the middle of the drain wrench. Then, took a rubber mallet and smacked the screw driver until I was able to loosen it up just enough to get a pair of channel lock pliers to finish the job.
