Nice little heater.

It's a nice little heater. I do mean little though. I would love to have a larger version of this type of heater for our back patio, but we (thankfully) have a roof for the patio. Roof is only about 7' tall, which is a no go for a big heater. A smaller version, like this, will have to do. And it does. It sits on a table top, of course, and you really need to be right beside the table to stay warm on a cool night. For that, it does the trick. It's nice down to about 50 degree weather (right next to it). Below that, and you really want a higher output heater. This heater works well and does what it should for an 11K BTU heater, but understand what you're getting. We actually have other higher BTU heater when it gets really cold, but this one serves it's purpose.
Assembly wasn't too bad. The base weight is a bit of a pain, but just turn the whole thing upside down to attach. And if you plan on using it regularly or for more than a few hours at a time, get an adapter so that you can attach it to a 15-20 propane tank. They're cheap and well worth it for this heater. The 1 lb tanks don't last long.

Easy to assemble. However our heater kept snapping off after 5-10 minutes. At first we thought we got a "bad" set of propane tanks. But a new pack, same problem. Maybe overheating? Turned it on in 20 degree weather, same problem. Contacted AZ Patio Heaters and they were quick to respond with a cryptic fix--3 photos detailing what I should do to troubleshoot the problem. After some googling, figured out I should bypass the anti-tilt switch. Googled again how to do this on this heater (which, oddly, led to a video from AZ heaters...) This fixed the problem, suggesting it was a faulty anti-tilt switch. Suggested I should order a new one from their website, for $12.99! When I balked, they readily sent one by mail. Which arrived quickly. But now I have an anti-tile switch with absolutely no direction how to install...Back to google I go.
So the heater works great, but arrived faulty. Tech support is prompt, but not very user friendly.
But you can't beat the price. You get what you pay for. I now know more about he inner workings of a patio heater than I ever thought I would know!

Excellent for price range, easy to assemble, great height for table top, plent of heat for 50-60 degree weather. This product is half the cost of those in box stores. I find no difference in quality.
Once you figure out how to light it - it works great - Follow the tips to get it going!

Review update - I changed this rating from a 1 to a 4 star rating. Originally, I could not get it to light. Here is the tip you need. I called their support line. First, they answer it promptly. Second, they were very nice. Third, the advice was spot on. NOTE: you must turn the dial to Pilot and hold it in over a minute. Time yourself because that is far longer than you think when waiting. Then press the starter. You must push the dial in the whole time for the full minute. Then it lights, Best to do this in the night when it is dark the first time so you can see the spark of the ignitor. After following the advice from support. It lit perfectly and works very nice. I m taking one star off because, it should light easier. That would be a big improvement. Otherwise it puts off nice heat and is nice unit.

Great product. Easy to assemble and gives off great heat. I bought a 20 lb. propane tank steel box and 4 ft type 1 hose for the propane. Drilled a a hole in the box to feed the hose straight up through the bottom of the lantern. So easy to do... and I'm 40 yr old woman!
