It's one of the easiest ways to hand sharpen an axe machete or other tools reasonably quickly wo being overly abrasive.
Unfortunately, it crumbles off and gets black all over ur hands, and usually these contain toxic heavy metals like aluminum that are absorbed thru the skin. Wearing gloves is a good idea, but the crumbling makes both sides lead course than they originally were. Would be nice if it was more durable but totally works for what it's designed for-gets tools as sharp as u want them while leaving the edge pretty smooth

Get the angle right, and it will sharpen well.

Easy to use and does the job well, sharpened axes multiple times using it, and great for having out in the field. Will not get it razor-sharp but very good for what it is.
