I thought it was going to be the tall pipe and the loop but its one or the other. That was my fault I didn't take time to read all the way through. Still a good product.

I have two mice that love these pipes. Maybe a little too much as they have nearly chewed up the entire thing in just a few months. This is even after providing them with plent of wood chews for them. The kit actually seems to be missing some pieces. So you have to pick or choose whether you want a horizontal or vertical loop. I ended up having to go to the pet store and buying the missing pieces.

Not at all hard to put together looks really fun and my hamster enjoys going through the tunnels, I did not set mine up like the picture I created my own loop to loop, I'll try to post pictures later and works with any critter trail habitat.

My mice love exploring these. I set them up in different configurations, which makes for new adventures every time I clean their habitat. I lay a bed of shredded paper and/or litter at the bottom to absorb their waste. Otherwise, it will drop through the ventilation holes and onto whatever is beneath.

This was purchased for my daughter's hamster enclosure to expand the living space without increasing the footprint of the habitat itself. The parts seamlessly interface with all the Kaytee CritterTrail cages

My daughter attached the oval loop to an existing hide above the main cage which is accessed thru the existing tunnel that leads to above. The circular loop was added by way of knocking out another port in the main cage's roof and dropping the tube thru it to the floor. This gives more living and exploring space to her hamster.

The only downside is that the circular loop has vent holes in both the top and bottom along the path. As anyone that has had hamsters as pets or mice as pests, you know their main mission in life is to move stuff from one place to another....including into the tubes. As they go back and forth small bits of debris falls from the holes to outside of the enclosure thereby creating a mess on top of any other structure that might be below it, or if the circular loop is hanging out over the main cage, onto the surface of the table or desk the habitat might be sitting on.

It's not a big issue UNLESS someone in the house is a clean freak. However, it can be remedied by simply putting tape over the lower holes.

I would recommend this product for anyone looking to expand their Kaytee hamster enclosure.
