My 17-month old son loves to help sweep, mop, and vacuum. It's adorable-- until he throws a fit that I'M doing it and he can't. While most days it's easy to hand it over to him for a few, there are of course the times that I just want to get it done. Soooo, my husband and I figured that we needed to get a set of his own. We chose this and the Dirt Devil Junior Reaction Vacuum to be our son's first cleaning tools. The Dirt Devil is set to be delivered today, but the broom set came yesterday, so of course I had to let Charlie try it out immediately! Out of the box, he was completely excited and wanted to "sweep" the carpet. We went ahead and swept the kitchen floor together, and actually, it was really nice. It's made very well considering it's just a toy- the bristles are thick and well angled, like the real thing, and it did sweep up a considerable about of dirt and pet hair. It's a little tall yet for my son, but I think technically he's a little young for the age rec on this toy??? Either way, it's tons better than him trying to maneuver Mommy's full-sized broom. So the broom is great. We didn't really test out the handbroom and the dustpan, but my husband noticed that the pan was a little scratched up--- shipping's fault, I'm assuming, not the toy's.
The nice part isn't that it's well made, though, you know? It's great because my son is learning life skills and is getting to participate in what we do around the house- it makes him feel included and valuable, and we actually had a lot of fun doing this together. NOW- if I can only keep him this enthusiastic about sweeping until he's a grown man....... ;)

Easy for my kids to use!

I bought this for my kids to use when helping me with chores. They are constantly asking to help sweep, but our full-sized broom is too much for them (my kids are all 8 & under). This set looked great for them. I also liked that it came with a smaller hand broom & dust pan.
Pros:
- Cost. (This was an affordable set without too many extra things my kids wouldn't use.)
- Size. (All my kids can handle using this set easily.)
- Durability. (The bristles have not shown signs of falling apart.)
Cons:
- The broom handle is rather light weight and bent easily. (We were able to bend it back but it now has a dent in it.)
My kids use this set both for helping with chores and for pretend play. I would recommend this set to anyone looking to get an inexpensive broom set for smaller children.

Great little broom set.

I have ordered three of these sets over the last 7 years and still use all of them. I like the handles are short (since it's for kids), but it's more like an arm extension and I use a separate standing dustpan so it's so easy to just sweep up debris.
Just the right size
