Easiest chain to use, and great performance!
Steven Kan✓ Verified PurchaseSeptember 27, 2023
2011 Lexus RX450h AWD, 235/55-19.

We just finished a caravan trip with friends. My son had never installed any kind of chain before, but after watching me start on the front driver side, he put on the passenger side in 2 minutes. De-chaining was even faster.

One car in our caravan broke their non-Z chains immediately after installation, and had to catch a ride into town to buy some Zs that then worked flawlessly.

Another car's non-Z chains had a weird lever tensioning system that didn't work at all, allowing the wheel to actually spin inside the chains! We added a tensioner, ironically borrowed from a set of Zs, to get her off the mountain.

During de-chaining, we were asked for help from a lady behind us whose non-Z chains were fastened with tiny metal clips that were incredibly difficult to remove while wearing gloves. .

The more I see non-Z chains, the more I like my Zs!
They work

Used these for a plow truck. I didn't exceed the recommended speed. They lasted 3 seasons in AK before I finally had one of the wire ropes fail. The elastomeric tensioners only last about 2 years before the elastomer starts to crack. But you can buy replacements easily.
works on honda pilot 2021

used it 3x now this winter season. It was easy to put it on the front wheels, took about 10 mins or less on a honda pilot 2021 awd w/18" stock tires. Taking it off took a bit longer since I have to find where to unhook the hook. Just remember to clean it and oil the chains before storing it for next season.

Better than chains.

I have used chains and cables on my 2006 2WD Silverado half ton, and the cables are just better for road use. I live in a mountain community that gets snow every year and traction devices are required for all 2WD vehicles.

Chains are made with metal that is too soft for long term use. I had to replace them every other year because the road is just a big grinder. They are heavy, loud and give a bumpy ride. I would only use chains for off road use where maximum grip is required.

I bought my first set of ZT747's in 2011, it is now 2020 and that set is still good, even the rubber tension ring and yellow clips. I use 303 Protectant on these for UV protection. I did buy spare rings and clips for just in case. The cables are used 10-12 times a year for 200-300 miles per year. Usage is on paved roads only except for 100' of gravel driveway. These cables give me good start and stopping traction, with less noise and a better ride. I purchased a 2nd set for the front tires because the snow was not the nice powder we normally get last year, it was wet, the type were a snowball instantly becomes an iceball. My rear tires were getting traction but the front tires had a mind of their own and steering was an issue. I am certain that cables on the front will give me better steering control, and increase my braking ability.

Wash, dry and lightly oil the cables after use, do not abuse them and they should give you years of service.
