Great tape

I had never used silk tape before. Stronger than paper. Looks fragile but is very strong and waterproof. I will be using it again.
Love this!

3M Durapore medical tape worked well for me for holding a 4x4 gauze to the lower part of my back following back surgery. 3M tapes are all specialty tapes and this one has these attributes:
Adherence to dry skin: very strong
Adherence to wet skin: not recommended (though if you adhere it to dry skin, it sticks well if the tape later gets wet)
Stretch: none
The tape lasts easily for days, even if getting tugged on. If you want to treat an area and then cover it for days at a time, I think this is a great tape. Best of all, even though it sticks very well, when you go to take it off, it peels off easily with no pain or goo left behind. Very cool.
3M has a product family datasheet explaining the attributes of all of their tapes. A simple google search will bring it up. Very informative. I used the guide to buy several tapes for several different types needs.

frownies alternative

I bought this tape to use for an unconventional purpose: I stick a small square in between my eyebrows while I sleep to prevent wrinkling. A few weeks ago, I noticed the beginnings of a frown line forming because I have a bad habit of making faces and scrunching up my eyebrows while I sleep. I looked into buying some frownies, which are little patches of tape that keep you from furrowing and wrinkling your brow while you sleep, but they are expensive for being just tape.
I've been using this stuff instead 5 mights a week for the last two weeks, and I already see a difference. When I wake up the little line is completely gone, and while it reappears slightly by the end of the day, it's much lighter than it was before. This is a very soft and flexible medical tape. It grips well enough to stay in place, but doesn't hurt to remove (I moisturize the area before I put this one at night), and best of all, it doesn't pull at hairs. That way, if I get a few eyebrow hairs caught on it, I don't have to worry about accidentally waxing off half an eyebrow in the morning. (Obviously, your mileage may vary if you rip the tape off violently instead of gently peeling.) The tape is easy enough to tear by hand-- the edges have little scallops to help you get a tear started.
My only (very minor) complaint about this tape is sometimes the threads come out at the edges. It doesn't affect the function of the tape; it only bothers me because I'm a neat freak.
