OEM quality and fit, easy replacement for old tensioner that had seized up

The AC quit working on my 08 Silverado and from past experience, the first thing I checked was if the AC accessory belt was in tact. It turns out it was not and it had shredded itself in half. I bought a new belt and while I was putting it on, I noticed the AC tensioner pulley was seized up. That is why the belt failed!
I bought this belt tensioner and then read the reviews how many people say when you replace the AC belt, just replace the tensioner too. I'm all about being proactive with P.M. but I don't know that it's necessary for this. Since this particular pulley only operates the AC, you'll just be a little bit warm if it fails on you for a couple days.
The quality was what you would expect from ACDelco and it fit right in place of the OEM one I removed. Since you have to take the serpentine belt off to get to this repair, replace that belt too! The serpentine belt runs the water pump, alternator and more, so if that belt goes, you're on the side of the road or are quickly on the way to overheating your vehicle.

Sending it back. Installed on 02 Tahoe 5.3. While driving with ac on sounds like something falling apart. Once I looked at tensioner it was moving sideways and surprised belt didn't come off. Installed old tensioner and worked fine except bearing noise.
but bolts right up and has good tension. Bought a 2nd one for another truck

You can't go wrong replacing your old worn out AC Delco parts with fresh new AC Delco parts. They always work and fit perfect. Why waste your time and money with inferior quality parts.
