I use these to help my children learn to sight read. I have them each pick 1-3 words (my 2 year old chose 1, my 5 yr old choses 3) and they practice reading it/saying it a few times a day and as the days go on they get to chose more words if they remember their other words which I also mix around sothey aren't memorizing a pattern. This is exciting to them and these words are a great tool for that. I appreciate that they are simple black and white and little letters too! These days we see all caps used a lot to teach kids and that just isn't realistic.

We used this kit for helping my son learn to read. We started with one word on the board. As he memorized the words, we added them one at a time. After a while, we were able to add words more quickly. When he had lots of words memorized, we started making silly sentences for him to read. Sometimes he makes them for me and sometimes I make them for him. The words are larger and easier to move that the regular magnetic poetry set, but the selection is limited. The kit does not include color names (which we really missed; we made our own magnets for those). Great for beginners. To make really fun poetry, you'll want to move on to the regular kit.

We lenjoy this magnetic word set. My 6 year old loves creating new, silly sentences and my 2 1/2 year old loves to join in- they are easy to pick up (so please keep in mind to keep it out of babies reach). The two things I would change is:
1. Adding more K-1st grade sight words and..
2. Adding blank magnets in the mix. My daughter wishes she could add the family members names in the bunch.
With that being said, it is over all a great collection. The magnets are strong, and stay on the fridge very well but not so strong that they are difficult to pick off (as previously stated). I will probably by another, different set from this company for more fun.
