Had bought one last year and this one lacked many of the features of the earlier one I ordered. My fault - did not pay attention to marketing. Both were Little Giants - first one I bought one had safety relay and external over-ride switch to turn on pump. This model lacked safety relay and manual over-ride switch.
Replacing a Liberty pump for my NCB-240 combi boiler
JSK✓ Verified Purchase•April 14, 2018
bought this to replace my condensate pump used to remove water from my NCB 240-Combi boiler. My previous unit lasted about 2 yrs and was constantly giving me problems, until it finally went kaput.
This thing is now working well so far and no issues, it's only been a few months so far.
The pump is pushing water vertically UP about 6 ft and then another 4 feet in a downward slope towards the drainage pipe.
During the winter, the pump probably runs at least 4x a day, I can't say for sure since I don't hang around down there to see how much water fills in and gets pumped out.

Does NOT have an overflow safety switch.

This Little Giant 554401-15UL does NOT have a safety switch as advertised in the sale listing: "Little Giant 554401 VCMA-15UL Automatic Condensate Removal Pump with Safety Switch, 1/50 HP, 115 volts" and description. The package label is clearly marked "NO SAFETY SWITCH". This unit will work OK for somewhere with a concrete floor with a drain for water to flow into if it overflows, which usually does not need a pump anyway. It is not suitable for use in other locations where water may damage ceilings, floors, or furnishings, etc, when the pump fails. Other than the lack of a safety switch Little Giant pumps usually work well. They will eventually fail just like any mechanical device so a safety switch for an alarm or to shut down the appliance is advisable.

It runs perfectly. Only makes a little bit of noise when it cleans out the tank, but it lasts for a few seconds and you can't hear it over the A/C unit. This thing saved me hundreds of dollars! My drain pipe doesn't connect to a main line and it was constantly creating blockage and overflow. With this thing hooked up, I have it draining out through the washer line. Problem solved.
Professional grade.

Major upgrade. I have water issues galore in my townhouse and 8 years ago came up with a solution. I have a condensate pump that dumps condensate as output from a little dehumidifier as well as overflow from a whole house humidifier as well as water from a very high water table. It all dumps into a plastic bin in a hole with this pump in it.
The ones from the chair hardware stores would last 2 years... maybe 3. I've had this for only 6 months but the materials and workmanship is FAR better. Nice heavy duty and the pump is powerful enough I'm using it to pump all that water out my garden watering system! I love being an engineer.
