works great
Works now, but picky about where it's installed

I'm using this DB 10 pressure switch with the Fantech RVF4XL Exterior Wall Mount Centrifugal Duct Fan, 4", 193 CFM and the Fantech 9800000 RSK-4 Backdraft Damper, 4" Duct. The combination works perfectly, switching on and off when my dryer does, and boosting the dryer's airflow so my clothes get dry about 3x faster.

So why only 4 stars? Two reasons.

First, the DB 10 switch didn't work initially, and I nearly returned it. Buried in the instruction manual -- but not mentioned in the description or reviews here -- is the fact that the hole you drill into your duct (where the switch senses pressure) needs to be just before an elbow, so enough pressure builds up that the switch can sense it. My ductwork doesn't have an elbow -- i.e., a bend in the duct -- anywhere near where the switch and the fan need to go. I solved the problem by drilling the hole immediately before the RSK-4 damper, which blocks airflow and builds up the requisite pressure about as much as an elbow would. At the very least, the manual should suggest that arrangement, for people whose houses don't have space for a bend in the ductwork.

And second, the stranded aluminum wire is a pain to wire-nut to solid copper supply lines and the solid copper lines on the RVF-4XL fan motor. At this price point, they could've used solid wires. Or they could have omitted the wiring harness entirely in favor of terminals on the switch.
Works very well.

Does a fine job of automatically switching on our Fantec RVF 4XL on our dryer vent.

lasted 60 days and now does not work. Turns the fan on and off for no reason. Called their customer service and they are sending me a new one. Great customer service
