This mouthpiece produces a very warm, beautiful tone. It is for players with a solid/experienced embouchure that need their flugelhorn to sound big & bold, and not sound like a trumpet. I can get great VOLUME (sound levels) out of this piece. It plays really well and the rim is very comfortable for my own style of play. A must-have for classical music and traditional styles of performance. (Look elsewhere for jazz). 5 stars!

This mouthpiece makes it easy to play in tune. Had a larger one by DW, but since i switch to a Bach 3c for trumpet, this works great. Produces a nice dark tone for the flugelhorn.

I'd echo most of what C Hammer said above as far as how it effects the sound. If you want to darken/mellow your sound this should do it. I don't find the rim too narrow as C Hammer reports but of course this is going to vary among individuals.
