Nice product, but don't think of it as "portable"

I got this during some sort of flash-sale or price reduction, so that may influence my review somewhat. The bin, when assembled, is attractive and sturdy. It sits on the deck of my pontoon boat, where it is keeping my life jackets nice and dry. It looks good, and I think it will last a long time. Some people have complained that the assembly pins are flimsier than earlier models. That may be. They aren't particularly massive, and the design is such that if you pick it up, it may all come apart. It is "lockable", but don't be fooled - anybody could just snap it apart. It isn't designed to pick up - it has no handles and no wheels, and nothing to grab onto. It is intended to set it in place and leave it there. If that doesn't work for you, I'd suggest a different product. But, within the limits of its design-intent, it is a really nice deck box.

One of my favorite "new home" purchases. It's compact enough to sit on our deck without being a nuisance, yet big enough to hold our patio furniture cushions. But my favorite part is that it's size and shape make it perfect as a buffet server for outdoor dining. Or, additional seating on the deck when necessary. I didn't expect a deck box to be so versatile but it's become one of our favorite outside accessories.

Delivered on time to my front door. Simple to assemble, I was surprised, pleased and relieved. I am female, and could use basic household items and tools. Instructions were easy to follow, with illustrations. It's on my front porch for package deliveries. True to the Rubbermaid brand, it does hold my adult female weight and a couple of kids could probably sit with me on it, so I don't have to worry about neighborhood kids hurting themselves if I am not at home. Only suggested improvement? Make it in the U.S.A. :)

This is great. It went together fairly easily; I had read other reviews that said it was difficult, but if you read the directions and punch out the slots on the base, it clicks together quite well. Fits my 100lb bale of hay just right. Happy customer.
