Really bland.

Doesn't taste like butter at all. Had to put tons of salt on it. Now I have a ton of the stuff. Ugh.
one bag has 2.8 servings, which makes portion control/calorie counting difficult

I like to snack on popcorn at work, mid-morning or so. You can eat a lot of popcorn without worrying about too many calories. (I lost 45 pounds last year counting calories and find that I need to continue counting to maintain my weight.) I am one of those people who seems to do better if I am constantly eating, and popcorn also counts as a whole grain.
Anyway, I've been trying the various microwave popcorn products that aren't loaded with "butter," and this one, while generally high quality, is kind of irritating. If you look at the nutrition information, although there are 112 calories per serving, there are 2.8 servings per bag. Not even a round number. So it is kind of difficult to measure out a precise amount unless you bring your food scale to work (or wherever you happen to be) or use a measuring cup (the food scale being more accurate in this instance). Plus, even then, if you only want one serving, you still have to pop the whole bag and the rest is left. You can give the rest away or just trash it. I find myself guesstimating that I've eaten half the bag, or about 1.4 servings.
Anyway, this is not the best product for portion control. As far as microwave popcorn goes, it is pretty average. If you are looking for great flavor and don't care about calories, go with the Quinn popcorn. If you are worried about counting calories, there are products from Act II, Jolly Time, and Pop Secret available here, where the entire bag is one serving. This is organic, so if that is important to you, it could still be worth your while to purchase.
Flavor-wise, this is OK. I guess because the butter is "light," it is not the most flavorful stuff in the world. Sodium in one serving is not so bad, but do keep in mind what I said about serving and portion size earlier. If you eat the whole bag, you're getting like 300 calories and close to 500 mg of sodium, which is quite a lot. It doesn't taste all that salty, or at least the salt flavor isn't overwhelming.
I do like other Newman's Own brand products, but I can take or leave this one. I have a whole case to get through (I've finished 3 boxes so far but thrown about half of each bag out for portion control reasons) but I probably won't buy it again. I don't hate it, but am looking for something where I don't have to do algebra to calculate calories. (You can see the full nutrition facts panel and ingredients list if you zoom in on the product images. Avoid if you have dairy or soy allergies or are vegan, FYI.)

Overall pretty yummy

It tastes very similar to popping your own corn at home. Not covered in butter or anything. I did take a star away because I keep finding random kernels in the out plastic wrapping and sometimes there is a whole in the bag and I have to toss it out. It's not often, but I've only gone through 2 boxes of the popcorn and almost always find a random kernel that falls on the floor (and thus begins the quest of finding said kernel before my cat).
Good M/W Popcorn without Salt

This is good popcorn! Very clean corn taste and pops very well! It's the best no salt added microwave popcorn we've found yet. It's hard to find the unsalted popcorn in local stores. We like the convienence of the microwave bags. This consistantly pops well with very few unpopped kernels and tastes fresh and crisp! Makes movie nights more fun!
I highly recommend Paul Newman's No salt added popcorn!

Best "compromise" when you can't make home-popped...

We usually only make popcorn on the stovetop, but we keep this in the cupboard to sneak into the kid's lunchboxes on the days they go to after-school programs. They get to share with their friends and the quality is so much better...not too salty or fake buttery. We've bought 2-3 cases from Amazon, it's always fresh and delivered promptly. The Newman's case box is pretty sturdy, we wind up unloading the individual boxes into it and just keeping the case box in the pantry.
